Cauldwell Dam
ABOUT THIS VENUE | |
Cauldwell Dam is one of Ashfield's oldest venues and has a great local member feeling, with some members fishing it for years. It is a pear shaped pond of around just over two and half acre's. The venue as good secure parking arrangements. There are trees around the edge as well as lilies and reeds in places. It has two pegs 1 and 2 which are easy accessablility pegs and the rest are comfortable pegs thanks to the local bailiffs and their hard work over the years. The pond is secured by our access key and as with all venues must remain locked at all times. The pond is spring fed via two dykes from the out lying land and as depths from 3/4ft to around 5ft in places and the bottom is mostly gravel with silty areas. The pond holds a good head of fish with Roach to 1.5lb Bream to around 6lb, it also holds Rudd,Skimmers,Perch and Carp to around 12lb +, the Tench go to around 5lb also . Most methods work here and can give members a great days sport. Seat at Cauldwell, there will hopefully be other seating installed this year. The car park at Cauldwell with over 26.5 ton laid by Bailiff Gordon Eyre and Secretary John Taylor. |

Venue Specific Rules | ||
The venue has two venue rules which are 2 rods maximum and no wire traces required due to no Pike in the venue. Unhooking mats must be used with all specimen fish as the club rules states. |
